Broad Hinton Village Hall grand opening!
After six months construction Broad Hinton Village Hall was finally opened to the delight of all in April 2009.
This wonderful new facility, which is also available for outside let, has been built on the site of the former village hall and was designed by Taylor Seymour Architects. The Broad Hinton Village Hall Committee funded the project through grant support, donations and many years of hard work fundraising. Donovan Construction were engaged as main contractors for the £500,000 project following extensive consultation with the design team and Village Hall committee, they believed that Donovan Construction offered the right level of skills in both construction and cost management to deliver the project on time and to budget. Project architect Ian Darlington commented 'your attendance to the cost review, in such a short time and the manner in which it was carried out is exemplary'.

Roy Retires!
Roy Horwood, a much loved and respected part of the Donovan Construction team retired in November 2008.
We would like to wish Roy and Shirley a long and happy retirement and to thank him for all his hard work over the many years he has worked with us.

Mark and Gill run the New York Marathon. Mark Donovan and Gill Johnson ran the New York Marathon in November 2008. Both finished within their target times and raised over £3,500 for ‘Over the Wall’, a charity providing residential activity camps for children and young people affected by serious and life limiting illnesses. Mark and Gill would like to thank everyone for their kind support and generous sponsorship which helped make the whole experience a great success. [Back to top]

15 years to celebrate... 130 guests came together at Bath Races to help celebrate Donovan Construction's 15th anniversary. Architects, engineers and customers past and present all enjoyed a relaxed informal day out with great food and wine supplied by our able hosts Rhodes Event Management of Bristol. John and Viv Haigh who are customers of Donovan Construction commented "nothing better epitomises what Donovans has come to mean to us. Meticulous detail at the planning stage, well trained people with the correct skills in the right place at the right time." Success story... We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Refurbishment of the North and South Granary at Standen Manor following a devastating fire which caused extensive damage to the roof, floors and walls of the former working granary building. Working closely with the architects and engineers Donovan Construction completed the contract on time and to budget. The estate, managed by Carter Jonas of Marlborough on behalf of CGS Trust, has seen rapid expansion of its business facilities attracting new commercial clients looking for high quality office lets in the heart of the Berkshire countryside. This is the third phase of works completed by Donovan Construction to a total value of over £600,000. The managing agents led by Philip Nicholson of Carter Jonas commented "I would like to thank you and your team for an excellent contract, the Trustees are very pleased". [Back to top]
